disagreement

I don’t agree to same-sex marriage. There are many reasons why I think so.

Firstly, they can’t have a baby. Recently, the number of children has been decreasing and it’s becoming a problem. This problem has been discussed in many situations and from many angles. For example, we will be lack of the workforce in the near future. And when we get older, it will have been more and more difficult for young generations to support older generations. There won’t be enough pensions which will be paid for the aged people. What is more, if same-sex marriage is accepted legally, this problem will be more serious.

Secondly, even if they can have a baby by using a foster care system or adoption, they have either motherhood or paternity. When you rear babies, both of them may be necessary. Motherhood will accept and admit the baby faithfully and give the baby absolute relief. On the other hand, paternity has a power of teaching the baby rules or manners. They teach good and wrong with making a clear distinction. Babies grow and shape their characters by balanced receiving both motherhood and paternity.

Thirdly, in Christianity, same-sex marriage can’t be allowed because it goes against spontaneous providence. Moreover, same-sex marriage can be seen as a sexual deviation and a religious sin. Marriage is regarded as a sacrament which is one of the graces of God. Then in Christianity or in church, same-sex marriage is regarded as taboo.

And it’s said that same-sex marriage means the essentials of life are changed by human. It is also said that marriage is for man and woman, not for man and man or woman and woman.

In conclusion, when I consider future generations, child care of same sexualities and religious views, I can’t agree to same-sex marriage.

  1. Alghough I am totally for same sex marriage, I thought it was very interesting to see America ligalize same sex marriages as there are many christians in America. My father is American and has a strong opinion against same sex marriges which made me wonder how many (christian) people in America were offended and upset when they heard the news that same sex marriages was legalized.
I am totally for same sex marriages because i believe that every human being grows up differently. Same sex marriage is the same thing as how some people re attracted to the opposite sex. Lesbians and Gays may wonder how strange it is how there are people who are attracted to the opposite sex.
In addition to the emotional and personal opinion on same sex marriages, realisticly i think it is okay for the same sex to raise a child, as there have been many people who are successful even though they had gay/ lesbian parents.
For example, 50 Cent a rapper and Robert De Niro.

  2. Your account from a Christian point of view accurately expresses many of the arguments that evangelical and conservative Christians make when discussing same-sex marriage, so you researched the issue well in preparing it.

I enjoyed reading Sherri's comments. It's always interesting when parents and children in the same family have very different points of view. I remember talking about this issue when I was in university with my mother and expressing my support for equal rights for gay people and telling her that I participated in San Francisco's Gay Freedom Day Parade to support gay friends. Because of that, my mother thought I might be gay and worried a lot. I had no idea that Robert De Niro and 50 Cent had gay parents. That's interesting.

  3. This topic is interesting, and recently has been becoming one of important issue that we have to discuss about. I was impressed that you had many reasons and perspective to think of this issue. I think that third reason about religion is serious, because we are not convert other person's religion and belief. But I hope one day same sax marriage will be legal.
